GWX 1.02 Can't access U-boat upgrade screen

GWX 1.02 installed just fine, and runs just fine. However, I discovered a couple of problems after completing my first GWX 1.02 patrol.

0) I awarded a qualification to one of my PO's. Crew was not awarded with any promotions or medals, just me, the Kaleun.

1) Sitting in my office gazing at picture of the frau und kinder, I wanted to see the new medal I had just been awarded for the patrol. I clicked and clicked on the medal box, but it won't open. Now you know the wife (and the mistress) won't believe I won the medal unless they see it!

2) I gave up trying to open that damn medal box, and tried to upgrade my boat; I at least wanted to see my reknown level. But, I can't get to the upgrade screen. So, I can't see my reknown points, and couldn't upgrade my boat.

Problem Summary
Somehow, the clickable areas on the office view have been damaged or lost.

This was a clean install; I have no unauthorized mods or fixes. I am using SubCommander 2.7. Here is how I installed GWX 1.02:

a) Rolled back SubCommander changes.
b) Used JonesSoft to back out the Penang fix, 16km mod, "No medals on uniforms at sea" mod.
c) Installed GWX 1.02.
d) Installed GWX Subcommander 1.02 changes to subcommander .cfg directory.
e) Reinstalled GWX mods, 16km, and no medals.
f) Started up SubCommander, and launched SH3.
g) Patrol ran fine; no weird problems or failures. I saw the 1.02 map upgrades, the RDF antenna (nice animation), the new Kiel canal route, new bases and ports, etc. so it appears the installation was good.

After my patrol completed, and I gave up on the medal box and the u-boat upgrade screen, I noticed that Subcommander said my next patrol area was NULL.

Is this evidence of a bad installation?

You mean I was supposed to dock at another port instead of returning to Kiel? It's certainly possible I missed that in the briefing.

Does that affect only the next patrol area (the NULL problem), or does that also cause the no accessibility to the u-boat upgrade and no medals box screens?

I never docked at the wrong port before.

I kinda thought those kids in the picture on the desk didn't look like me...

I was prepared for some sharp questioning of the wife. As a matter of fact, the frau in the picture looked better than my wife, but I thought it was just from being at sea for weeks.

Yes if you dock at any port other than your own you will get a NULL grid and wont be able to upgrade your boat etc

Maybe you missed the message

When you start your patrol it will show your start port - Kiel - and the new port as the end point

Undoubtedly I must have missed the message. I have gotten so used to being home-ported in Kiel, I just got used to not reading that.

Doh!
