Are you running GWX with SH3 commander? If yes, you can change the amount of days of your stay in port when you run SH3 Commander. If you are playing the stock version, you have to manually edit the cfg files...someone more qualified than i will walk you through the process.
Cheers,

SH3 Commander is great. You can choose a realistic time between patrols or a fixed number of days you select. I pick realistic. Once I had to dock at a different port because I was running out of fuel. My next patrol was the very next day. I guess they didn't like guys from the wrong flotilla hogging all the fuel...

SH3 Cdr knows when you are docked at a different base than yours (this includes milk cows and supply ships) and make the stop one day.

Using SH3 Commander with 'Realistic' set, I once pulled into Kiel in my Type II, and they had me ready to go in just 5 days. That's pretty good for home port!

I set it manually using SH3 Commander.

I figure that 50% of the time I spend on patrol should be spent in port.

I think the actualy historical figure is 40% before 1941 and 60% after.

My patrols average about 8 weeks each, so I usually spend 4 to 6 weeks in port between patrols.
