I've given up trying to get more FPS than 9-10 in harbour with NYGM, would this card sort things up?
PNY GeForce 6200 AGP 8X 256 Mb VGA/DVI/HDTV/S-Video My current specs are: Motherboard: SiS745 Ultra Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) Processor, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.2GHz Memory: 1024MB RAM Graphic card: Geforce4 4600Ti 128MB Or could the bottleneck be my onboard soundcard (SiS 7012 Wave)? I think this would be the last hardware update for this rig, next step "buy new computer"!:hmm: |

Hi Jonte,
The Geforce 6200 is not a good card. It is slightly better then integrated graphics. It does have better shader support (DX9) compared to your old 4600Ti, but it wont give you a FPS boost. I suggest you try a minimum upgrade to a nVidia Geforce 6600GT 128 MB AGP, or ATI X700 Pro 128 AGP (if you can find it), to see a noticible difference in FPS. I think the 6600GT should be somewhat affordable and you can still find it on some sites. The AGP cards are a lot more expensive nowadays then the newer PCI-Ex cards with similar specs due to being phased out slowly. Maybe you should stick to your current rig for the time being, till such time you are ready to invest in a new machine altogether. I doubt the onboard sound is a bottleneck, its the whole system generally. The processor @1.2Ghz is also on the low end for this game, and so is Ti4600. Hope it helps.
