Does anybody have any figures for diving/surfacing vertical speed for the different submarine types?

Only partial results on vanilla following release of 1.04.
SW and Ak 2 run at 15 knts (TD - time to depth.) At 60 ft. select 600 ft. - TD SW 4 mins 40 sec. Ak 3 mins 30 sec. At 60 ft. select 600 ft. - *Time to reach 580 ft. - SW 3 mins 03 sec. Ak 2 mins 43 sec. At 600 ft. select 60 ft. - TD SW 3 mins 30 sec. Ak 3 mins. At 600 ft. select 60 ft. - *Time to reach 100 ft SW 2 mins 10 sec. Ak 2 mins. * Allow for level-off - SW takes longer. NB. Compared with pre 1.04 the comparitive SW ascending times have increased by about 30 secs ie as much as +27%

Thank you for that.It certainly is an often overlooked parameter when you are trying to get under the layer,or surface for a drop off.
Would you be able to do a run with the 688i in DW and the Traf in SCX?If you do the latter I would be interested to know the time at 5kts.Time multilpied by speed = distance,a useful planning tool. Last edited by Linton; 02-07-07 at 03:37 PM. |

Perhaps you will give it a go for yourself with a stopwatch - I'm a bit focused on LWAMI 306 right now.
