Not getting credit for a kill

Hi there. Currently I'm into my tenth patrol since I switched to GWX, and it happened to me twice now that I wasn't credited for a kill. Just to send this ahead: it didn't have anything to do with the wave height, and the ship also wasn't attacked by someone else.

The first was a small freighter I sank with the deck gun. She went down on an even keel in shallow water to approx 30 meters so that only the mast with the flag was visible above the water. Strangely I never got the "ship destroyed" message, nor was there a symbol for a sunken ship on the map.

The second one on the next patrol was a small troop transport which I hit with my aft torpedo. After hearing the hit I started evasive maneuvers and right on time heard the explosion. Several minutes later I get the "ship destroyed" notice and a symbol on the chart.

Both the ships never went into my log book, so I didn't get credit for them on my return That was the first time I came across this. But coming across it twice made me think. Anyone else experienced something like that? Thanks!

Did you save right after sinking then reload that save ?
Sometimes can happen that way
The missing tonnage has happened to me in all forms of the game occasionly
Luckily very very occasionaly

Nope. I didn't save until after a few hours (real time) later. The kill was never awarded to me. Guess I was lucky the last one and a half years that it didn't happen before. In contrast I've also been a awarded a kill for a merchant that sank due to high waves after I had hit it only once with my deck gun. So I guess we're even now

Thanks.

Boy, this has happened to me more times than I can count. Usually if I save after a ship is hit and is either in process of sinking or right after, but not necessarily. I've sunk ships hours before then saved and rcvd no credit. A game bug if I recall. Anyway, one of those things we have to live with.
