I´ve never liked the DC explosion sound you hear from inside your submarine. It sounds too crispy and sharp. After all the sound is muffled by the water and your subs hull. So, I made a new sound! :p
This is a muffled and bassy sound and you can hear plates and metal trembling off the force of the explosion. Hope you like it! Cool, I was not a big fan of the DC sound. I'll give it a go. How about a really good ship breaking up sound?

Actually the sound underwater and within the submarine would be extremely clear, and not muffled. Water is an excellent way for sound to travel ( it travels much further and faster under water than in air ).

Best DC sound i've ever heard is the one I use now.....its either part of NYGM 2.3 or part of Venetore's ultimate sound mod...i'm not sure which so feel free to spank me.
The sound adjusts well based on distance from boat and the secondary percussions are just the absolute best....was heavily pounded last night and the DC mod gave me a good sense of awareness of environment and emersion. Try it, who knows, you may like it. ![]() |

Not sure where I read this from, so I'm pulling it from memory. I seem to recall reading a narrative of a submariner regarding depth charge attacks. He said that the ones a bit of a distance away sounded like a deep boom, but you knew you were in trouble and that they were real close because they made a double-sound like a 'click'-BOOM.

Several submariners said that up close you could hear the detonator switch engage, hence the "click". Somebody made one like that a long time ago, and I used it in my sound collection.
