Default No sound with GWX

I'm having sound problems with GWX. I tried the usual fix of checking the cfg Main file, but the sound values were up to 100. I do get sound initially, but when I try to use the mods, or alter the sound settings to shut off music I lose all sound or it goes very very low. I've tried several clean installs and I'm patching to 1.4. I've got AC'97 onboard sound, so I'm updating my drivers. Any help would be appreciated. Sound is very important for this game. Cheers

What helped with me was to delete the SH folder in my documents.

Try it.

Delete SH3 folder C\MyDocuments then reinstall and patch (rolling back SH3Commander prior to everything else...if you have it installed)

:hmm: ....every time I switch the pause on and go back my engines have dropped in rpm's ....a little bit the same, but I think it's due to my computer being at the low end requirements................as usual

Deleting that file in My documents worked perfectly. Thank you very much. I was able to fully enjoy the sound of my sub sinking at Dover. Bugger!!! Cheers,

The English Channel is a bad, bad, bad place. Sorry about you losing your boat but glad you got it sorted.

Welcome to the board too.

My glass breaking sound gets stuck in a loop when at crush depth in the Type II....is this to be expected in GWX? I don't remember the gauge glass breaking doing this before. Usually there is pop and break and followed by the gas line or water breaks. But, now its like someone is continously dropping a plate over and over and kinda gets annoying after awhile.

:hmm: Does one literally have to uninstall the whole game + delete the folder in my documents or is it enough to delete the sh3 folder only?
