I'd appreciate some help from the experts out there. I have been experimenting with adding traffic for nations not in the original SH3. I installed the flag.dat file from the nationality mod, created a new roster folder (in this case Ireland), populated it with some ship .cfg files (all already in my game), updated the DefSide to make them neutral, and added random units in the .rnd file.
My problem is this: When I go to the Museum to see if it seems to have worked, sure enough Ireland is there as well as all the ships. BUT, half of the ships have the Irish flag, half of the ships show no flag at all. What have I done wrong that would cause some ships to not show a flag? I assume if the flag doesn't show in the Museum it won't in the game - is that a correct assumption? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and good hunting! |

I assume it is the coastal vessels which do not show the flag. That was a minor problem with the original nationality mod which you will not be able to fix without editing the .dat file itself. You may want to ask Sergbuto about this.

IIRC you need to have a flag.dat and a flags.dat
The smaller ships use the flags.dat |

Thanks guys. You're both right on. So, is there a flags.dat file out there somewhere? I haven't seen it anywhere.

I think Diving Duck made flagS.dat based on flag.dat from my Nationality mod so that it includes all the countries from the mod. But I was not able to take a look at it yet.

But they didn't add China! Would/could you please insert this country again by editing the GWX files? Thank you a lot in advance!

Why ask, if it's okay to edit GW/GWX, if the attitude from the team behind towards me from the beginning is bad, just because I edit the files in another direction than the GW/GWX team intend the game to be? If I allready know from earlier comments that my mod edits are regarded as bad, whatever I do, then why bother? I edit for my own gameplay, first of all, but as among a group of people drinking together, then somebody prefers wine, some bear and others just a coke. In SH3, some like it tough, others just plain easy and others just somewhere in between. When I have edited the files for my liking, I offer it to others, and believe it or not, some people actually like my changes! About asking to include other modders work - well, I admit that I don't do it, nor do I demand others to ask for my permission, if I edit something out of my own and release that as a mod and they want to use it as part of their work. A simple credit list is what I can offer to do in the readme file, and if that's not enough, okay, then I'm sorry, but that's just me! But starting to get really pi***d about something simple as that, well, try to be just a little more positive instead! In the end, you warn other users to use any of my mods! Well, one thing you can't blame me for, is this: If problems occur with any of my mods, I try to correct the errors, and thus I do answer people contacting me, and hopefully I respond to everybody in a nice tone, which however sometimes can be hard, like now! So let me show myself from my nice side! I would like to wish you a merry Christmas with plenty of joyful Christmas spirits among family and friends! And to everybody else too, reading this thread!
