U.K Xmas TV

I have just seen the line up not one film or programme worth watching, it has hit a new all time low. I hope GWX will be released soon to get me through Xmas.

15 years of TV Xmas going down the tubes and now out the other side.

The Christmas Lectures I thought they had stopped them.

Is the Great Escape on? That's usually on at holiday time. Great movie.

Generall speaking it's science presented for younger people:

Quote:
About the Ri Christmas Lectures
In the mid 1820s Michael Faraday, a former Director of the Royal Institution, initiated the first Christmas Lecture series at a time when organised education for young people was scarce. He presented a total of 19 series, establishing an exciting new venture of teaching science to young people.
The Christmas Lectures have continued annually since this time, stopping only during World War 2. They are recognised as an educational forum for presenting complex scientific issues to young people in an informative and entertaining manner and are the flagship of the Royal Institution. Many world-famous scientists have given the lectures including Baroness Susan Greenfield, the current Director of the Royal Institution, David Attenborough and George Porter. To find out all of the Christmas Lecture speakers since 1825, please click here.
I watch it (I'm 37) because it's usually entertaining, I'll learn from it and it's traditional in my house!

A list of previous topics and preseners is here: http://www.rigb.org/rimain/heritage/downloads/christmas_lecturers.pdf

I'm going to play GWX instead of watching Xmas time TV! IT will be more interesting than what's on the box!

Yep saw that in the TV guide but it's after Xmas.

But a great start for the new year.

Fantastic. This sounds good. I will have to programme this into my Sky Box so I don't forget at the end of the week.
