Two pictures of interest. The battleship with two rows of something sticking out of the water and surrounding the battleship. What are those? Second picture of interest: the last one of a battleship with nets on it. Guns up and down. It looks abandoned????

Q2: I also think its abandoned.. Or it could be camoflaged, with the guns pointing in that direction to break the lines of the ship (in addition to the camonets).

I think the two rows of poles may be torpedo nets which were placed around the Tirpitz when she was moored in the Norwegian fjords.
As for the battleship at the end, that could be one of the ships scuttled in harbour and later brought up (notice the rust on the side) maybe the Admiral Hipper? EDIT: Seth beat me to it :p Cheers, Dan |

Yeah, subnets I suspect or torpedo nets. Are they function as both!
Guns like that too break a line...interesting, I would never had thought of that. I know the nets are used for camo but the vessel really looks abandoned to me.

At first I thought it was the Gneisneau (destroyed in port by a bomb to the fwd magazine), or one of the pocket battlehips, but even though there appears to be a single rear turret, it appears to be a 2 gun mount vs a 3 gun mount, so I'm not sure. Perhaps one of the older battlecruisers like the Koln?
