Default Help with Reinstall of SH3

I have been running sh3 since it came out. I have been using the IUB mod.
I decided to uninstall sh3 and reinstall. I have uninstalled sh3 a few times already.
Now I cannot reinstall SH3. I have removed all entries to sh3, including the registry, the document and settings file. What is happening when I try to reinstall is the install wizard goes all the way to the end, then says Publishing Product Information, then the install wizard says the process was interrupted try to reinstall later. I am not running any antivirus program, I am not connected to the internet. I have not changed any hardware. I have tried copying the disk to desktop and try that no luck. Could someone please give me some advice. Need to be back at sea, I love SH3.

Drastic yes - but its the only sure fire way I know off that will allow you to reinstall sh3 with out and hitches.

I guess you probably have done this already, but you need to do a search on your entire computer for any SH3* files and delete any you find and try again.

Do you have a Repair/registry cleaning program you can run also? Also this little program is free to use, it's called "CCleaner". Defrag and then try again.

I have searched the computer for sh3 files,...BTW i have some backup files from SHcommander and some sh3 files from the sh3 root folder, but nothing i think would affect the re-install. I have run CCleaner, installed windows installer 3.1, seached my registry over and over., used the windows installer removal utility. The sh3 install does not give me an error code, just the installshield wizard pops up again and says process interupted try to reinstall the program later. ....also the install shows that it is copying the files to my HD but hangs at Publishing Product Infromation. I dont think I have anything running in the background.....wonder if I could try to install in safe mode maybe.

Take any files you want to save and place them in a new folder.
Delete the Ubisoft folder if it still exists.
Defrag your HD and then try to re-install.
Sometimes an installation hates a fragmented HD cause the FAT table may be
just a bit screwed to it's point of view.

I ran into the SAME problem awhile back. The only way I could get SH3 to reinstall is to NAME a folder SilentHunter3 (no spaces...just like I typed it) and have the installer install into that folder..... wierd!

Well I am still trying to install SH3, Still stops when the InstallShield Wizard is publishing product information, and says setup was interrupted exit and try to install later. I did run the event viewer and it showed SH3 fialed , Source: Msilnstaller, Event ID 11708.....I tried searching for both these and couldnt find anything that helped.

If anyone knows what I could try next, I have tried defraging, searching all my computer and registry for anything relating to SH3 and removing from my computer . I run Ccleaner, Windows Installer Clean Up , Tyied to install to a different folder, Microsoft updates, I am using Ultimatedefrag V 1.32
Please HELP me.... ...I am having withdrawals not having my SH3.

I would be greatful

Might sound strange but is the disk clean? No scratchs or smudges? The reason I ask is I had this issue with my kid and Zoo Tycoon installation. My kid had apparently danced on the disc or something. There was a tiny scratch and the installation would hang and be interrupted.

Yes the Disk has a few scratches and smudges, I have installed worse looking disks. I thought about buying another SH3 and trying that . May take me a few days, during the meantime any suggesting on cleaning the disk. And thank you, to all who has helped me.
When I get another SH3, I will report back if it worked or not.
