What do you tell your good lady......

....when she says that your spending too much bl**dy time playing SH3?

Don't get me wrong, I believe that she comes first, but if she could, she would take up all my time.

I have two loves in my life, my wife & SH3 (i think that's in the right order ) however she keeps saying that I'm having an affair with my PC.:rotfl:

Currently, as I'm on best behaviour, my play time is limited to coincide with her watching Emmerdale, Coronation Street & Eastenders (Uk players will get this ).

Rock + Hard Place is foremost in my mind.

Does anyone have any good excuses/reasons or pleas that might wash, so that I can play for longer and not incur her wrath.

I have nothing to study

Besides, the sound of DC's is a dead giveaway.

You could always tell her that on the brightside after a long patrol with smelly unshaven men you are not only very happy to see her, but.. eager too

Assuming that you have a DVD player, you might consider renting some of "those" movies for her; you know, the ones she really wants to see but you're afraid you'll fall asleep at?

Also, not holding my breath here, but if she's the sort to like role-playing, you might check out Wolves at War ( http://wolvesatwar.org/ ). We have forums there for each flotille, also, each having their own bar/pub where the commanders get together for roleplaying in between patrols.

As I have been quite active there for some time, knowing that my brother's wife also likes role-playing, history, etc., I introduced her to the forums where, even though she has no interest in SH3 itself, she now runs three characters in the forums; Moena, Vittoria, and the incorrigible Lili Von Schtoop!

She has a lot of fun with it.

I don't know your wife's interests, but isn't it always better for the relationship if more of your individual interests can intertwine?

Good luck!

P.S. I do hope that your psyche is not trapped in the 19th century in believing that because you may pay the bills or the like, she will continue to tolerate being ignored (not saying that you are). I DO know that many women are VERY demanding of their husband/boyfriend's time. It goes both ways. Talk it out. A thing called compromise.

Presents. Give her presents and she will let you play as much as you want. I know it is called bribe but hell GWX is worthy even of that

I'm writing this as she is downstairs watching that life sucking abomination called Eastenders...
And I do believe I get a double bill tomorrow when Holby City is on after EE.
She don't understand my interests in computers or shooting and I dont get her need for Hollyoaks, Eastenders, Holby etc But at least she doesn't like Corro or Emmerdale and I don't like MMORG (or whatever the hell the acronym is), so there's some balance there somewhere

Also at the moment I'm building her mother a new PC for Christmas so she can do the email thing etc, so currently "I'm waiting for windows to install, love..."

Most certainly not...

I make the evening meals, as we both work and she does slightly longer hours than me. I have even been known to clean the house (properly ) the only thing I wont do is the washing up, I have delicate hands don't you know :rotfl: .

As for getting her interested in forums or even computers, she just not in to that. I even bought her a Nintendo DS + that stupidly cute puppy game, to keep her ocupied and relaxed in the evening. Didn't last long.

On the plus side she does like Das Boot and has even managed the equate the film to SH3. So much so that when I'm away from the PC I can hear ALLAAAAAARM being sounded along with silly giggles. I come back to find that she's crash dived me in 20m of water.(or blown ballast in the middle of a convoy (not good in GWX)).

I hope you all don't get me wrong, we get on very well. It's just a case of her time & mine.
