Hello, I'm running SHIII 1.4b and GW1.1a.
Is there a way to disable the murky water feature in GW? I love everything else about the mod, and I know it is much more realistic, but I still hate the murky water... |

You can, and probably should, use SH3 Commander to launch your GW game. It's a seperate program that has lots of neat features the most imporatant of which to you right now is the ability to set the water visibility to whatever you'd like.

Yes SH3 Commander is what you need. The water density can be set up to '20', which on my machine gives great underwater views.

There's been quite a lot of discussion on this - you may find it if you search re 'water clarity'.
The way to change it is to open SH3 Commander then go to SH3 Options/Gameplay Settings and set Water Clarity to 18 or 19. I haven't tried a 20 setting but I believe that gives unlimited visibility (in diving terms). |

18 is perfect for me. No vids without water opacity.

Thank you for the assistance!
I have heard of SH3 Commander, but I'm not sure what it does... I'm going to go take a look. |

![]() ![]() I can't use it. It will let me run SH3 one time, and the next time I run it starforce tells me that I have an invalid CD key. Had to delete commander and SH3 runs fine. |

Dead_Meat if you are looking for the stock underwater feeling, SH3 Commander will not give you the stock water. But it will clear it a bit. The subject is that GW makes water not only less clear, it changes also the color, to a darker one.
I asked the same as you a month ago, but I can't find an answer to get back the stock water, so I look myself on this and I found that to have the stock water you need: 1. SH3Commander and set, as already said here, the water clarity to 18, 19 or even 20, as you wish. 2. Replace the files EnvColors_Arct.dat, EnvColors_Atl.dat and EnvColors_Med.dat that you can find in \SilentHunterIII\data\Env after GW installation, with the stock ones that you should find in \SilentHunterIII\MODS\!BACKUP\data\Env if you installed the GW for the Jonesoft Generic Mod Enabler. That's all, the stock water is back again. Hope it helps |

This is the most noob friendly forum out there.
As for Shikkapow's issue I've never heard of that one again. Maybe JSCones can handle that one. |
