Too bad that most BF2142 players dont know that if you kill someone in the point where your squadleader has ordered you to attack, you get 1 extra point. So, in attack/defend areas you get 2 points for a kill. Also, the squadleader gets points when the squad do what he orders.

I hate the road that the BF series is going down, i personally dont like futuristic games the only one's i do like is WH 40K, MW4 and freelancer,i dont like the reward system(unlocks,medals) having played BF2 online i have had the pleasure of playing against some real idiots, can't stand this whole my D**K is bigger than yours attitude, i actually had someone say to me "I'm a highter rank than you so DO as i say" Big Whoop..the only reason i dont have a better rank is..I HATE VANILLA.....i only play on modded servers,the first online game i played of BF2 i had a team mate fly his BlackHawk into my Bradley, he killed us both but i got the TK he then voted to kick me for TK'ing..and i got kicked.

So how is the SPyware in this game? They pay attention to what billboards you look at and then do targetted advertising on you. That is complete BS.

Of course you are probably going into a database so that they can relay this information and sell it across the world. Uggh!!

yeah i was told the update patch 1.1 has spyware in it. Still that aint going to stop ppl playing it. Alot of uber BF2 players are switching over, you can tell whos the veterans BF2 players as they usually totally own you

Honestly i havent been happy with the battlefield series since 1942. My main reason is they made the game entirely online (especialy with unlocks). I am sick to death of online play other then doing ladders in a guild vs other professional guilds.

Pick up/open games suck, between the cheaters, the exploiters and the general **** ***** that ive had the misfortune to deal with over the years have pretty much driven me away from most online games. Unfortunatly BF has been continualy shrinking the ability to play coop (which sucks for practicing if your in a ladder guild), or play solo offline. BF2 (before modding) and even more so BF2142 (which comes with like 6 small maps that can be used for single player) has progressivly been getting worse and worse for those who like the game but dont wana deal with online because of the idiots.

Actually, the 'spyware' is there in the retail game. My friend bought the DVD and there was a piece of paper in it that told about it. (I got my game from the EA downloader)

There are places in every map that will be used for ad´s. But honestly there isnt much of them. Few billboards on the side of the roads etc. There isnt any ad´s yet, but soon there will be. IMO, in somekind of way it adds to the immersion to the game. Seeing real life ad´s while you fight, instead of those "THE EU FORCE WANTS YOU!".

I dunno if seeing coca cola, car, and viagra ads in a futuristic near apocalyptic world makes it more imersive

There´s already fictional ads on the billboards, so wont be a big change if they are real ads instead. Tho, a viagra ad next to a missile silo that´s just shooting a missile would be a bit too much. :rotfl:

Oh man i was in fits of laughter last nite, was at my sons house watching him play BF2142 and waiting patiently for him to give me a go I just realise somewhere during his childhood i must of stuffed up, as he hates losing:rotfl: Their he was in a conquest map (fall of berlin) top of the list in the last 3 matches, feeling good, full of confidence, showing dad hows it done when this uber soldier comes on and kills rick with the knife 4 times in a row:rotfl: Rick was his target as this guy only came for him while ignoring everyone else, i presume cos rick was top of the list he was this guys number 1 enemy and boy did he show him how its done - as you's would know getting killed with the knife is OWNAGE. Next thing i saw a different rick not the one im use to seeing. For the next 2 hrs rick and this guy slugged it out, it got personal, rick ignored all commands and just chased this guy around the map and vice versa bent on killing him, their was swearing, cursing, there was excuses :rotfl: :rotfl: The guy came first with rick trailing him, this wasn't good at all, so away they go in the next map one on one - i mean theres nothing more funnier than watching two grown men ( although this other guy could of been 13 for all i know) chasing each other around the map sluggin it out with knives.:rotfl: Cyber war can be dangerous to your health.

I disagree. The fact that they are making money off your dime (you already paid for this game) and the fact that they are collecting 'data' = bad apples to me.

I have played Bf2 for 213 Hours total.

started to play at the begin, till the patch 1.03 everything was good and fair.
but after the patch that emerged SF players in it. the game started to go down the hill in a dramatacly rate.

too many bugs, the balance in some things where weird. the J10 the Almighty plane a decent pilot could stay in the air for the whole round. Air vs Anti Air was a bit unfair. Modern homing missiles (from an USS ESSEX) aimed right like behind the plane...the missiles just flew 5 meters over it or better yet...they would lose control and blow up a friendly chopper (and just to make you feel lucky a blackhawk fully loaded with people)

most of the time the atitude of the people on server where immature a lot of foul language thrown at eachother. and Teamkilling for stupid things (Planes, Chopper and tanks) an 14yr old kid who has to be a power hungry admin just bans you for the reason ''Hax'' (just because you killed him, or stole the golden medal with just a different of 10 points) and when you take a tank before he could he banned you for Teamkilling for vehicules while you just where there faster.
this kind of atitude ruined my pleasure in this game.

the communities had the same problem with immature atitude, if you **** the foul language the post will show up like this ***** n00bs, *****server******************I hate this ****** game******************** all

also the patching of the game turned out to be a useless download of big size wich didnt change much nor fixed anything. but instead of fixing the game which they should have done , they add a stupid feature so commander can drop Vehicules. wich I hated because they used it to clear out roof snipers instead of supporting the team with it.

also the amount of cheating, like said the commander hack, I managed one time to sneak up at an enemy base where the commander was lying on the floor...I was a spec op I threw all my packages of C4 under his ass an blew him sky high...instead of dying he just opened his parachute and shot me dead with 1 single pistol shot
when that happend after all the ****e I had over my head of this game I said ''Thats IT!!!!'' and I threw it off my computer. it ran ****e anyway (low memory and graphic card) so I had to go low/Med setup.

now because of the bad attitude, developer support in the game I lost my pleasure in EA's BF saga's. so that is one of the reason why I dont buy or going to buy 2142. also I dont like futuristice made up horsecrap. I like historical or something of today genre's .

The reasons you listed is pretty much why i dont play multiplayer games of any sort any more. The attitude, the language, the swearing, the stupid kiddies, and the cheats and bad server admins.

HunterICX: I know why you got so much cheaters, whiners and otherwise a**holes playing with you. Looking at your stats, I can see you have played Strike At Karkand 104hrs!?

Karkand is de_dust of the BF series!? All the cheaters, statpadders and *ssholes play the map all day. You cant except a good team work on that map.

I play mostly only Dragon Valley, I like it. Big map, lots of trees and hills to sneak up on the enemy. Also, the team usualy works together! (well, atleast at that point when china gives them hell with their J10 and they need to capture the airfield to stop it)

Just get the original BF1942 and get Forgotten Hope. The whiners on there usually get Sherman'd within five minutes

Though I understand the one man grudge thing, after getting shot five times in a row whilst sheltering it what I was sure was a safe area by a guy called CapsJaps, I deliberately went out of my way to hunt this guy down and get him at least once in vengence. Damn he was good though, top of the server everytime. But I got him...I had to sneak all the way through to behind enemy lines....then I hid up by a good sniper spot...and sure enough, after a couple of minutes, up he came to snipe....only to receive an M1 Garand shot in the face. That was a good feeling.

Oh yeah, i understand that feeling. There was a guy called "Ball.Breaker.Bill" (:rotfl In CSS wich pwnt me every single time. But then i camped at the Position he usually came to snipe (AWP whore!). Fired my Deagle "BOOM! Headshot!". That did rock.

(I then picked up his AWP and pwnt his team with it, BTW.)
