Subsim Special Project

Quote:

"What do you know about Silent Hunter?"

The first time I was asked this question it was in the summer of 2002. The answer was quite simple: nothing. But that’s why Google is great. One hour later I was already aware of what the Silent Hunter brand represents. Of course the main source of information was Subsim.com. I was supposed to give an answer if we should start a development on this brand...
The Subsim Special Project. Announcement coming...

Part II

Quote:

The first document we got for SH3 was a wish list from the previous developers. On top of this list was an assumption: "User controls Pacific Theater US submarines only." Well, this was not our choice. I mean, it probably it was a logical decision to alternate the theaters but not for us. We were really fresh and when we started the discussions internally our assumptions were: the game should be named Silent Hunter III and it should be with submarines. There were even discussions about a WWI version!
