Default "Crash Dive" and NYGM 2.2 + general comments

Hi all

I've noticed when I CD in NYGM 2.2 I level at 20m. Is this deliberate? On the one hand I'd applaud it, as training for CD had the boat going to 20m in 25s. Problem is when I want to go deeper I level before starting to dive. That's not entirely healthy if there's an escort coming from the fog at close range (had that happen to me recently - was so close the main guns were firing over my head - which was better than them hitting me!).

Would really love it if you could select a depth THEN say CD. Incidentally, is there any real difference in dive times between CD and 'standard' other than the effect of going at flank i.e. if you order flank then set a depth, do you actually submerge any more quickly through CD command than by doing this?

Still learning stuff and loving it - this is a question, not at all a criticism! Being able to CD to 20m is realistic and also useful when the depth is restricted, such as in many parts of North Sea.

Cheers

Steeltrap,
We set the depth to 20 metres mainly due to the Crash Dive Blues!.

The crash dive depth can be changed by editing the value CrashDepth=20;meters in the file NSS_UboatName.cfg in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Submarine\NSS_U boatName.

The crash dive is slighlty faster than a normal dive command.

Sadly the crash dive blues will be with us forever.

Thanks Teddy. I had read that thread on the "CD Blues"....as I said in my post, having it at 20m (or 25m) is actually realistic in that this was the depth to which boats trained in Baltic i.e. Cremer in U-333 specifically mentioned drills over an over to vanish to 20m in 25 seconds.

I might play with the depth, or I may not. I DO like being able to CD in any depth water, which having it set at 70m doesn't allow.

Thanks for prompt and helpful reply, as always!
