Default Unified Extended Campaign

Sunday I tried to get GW and NYGM to run together using UEC, I followed the install order given in the read me (i use jsgme for mod management) but I crashed to desktop every time i started the game.

I know people have succeeded in getting this to work and my question would be twofold, 1. do you use jsgme and 2. what versions of these mods are you running for them to be unified by the UEC

Any help or suggestion much appreciated

I think it was already clarified that GW and NYGM do not work together?

Sorry mate it can't be done. You'll be getting alot of response's. It's a shame they can't . Enjoy with one or the other "flip a coin" or better yet multi install.

Good Luck & Good Hunting

UC, GW, and NYGM all use the same files...errrr sorta.

Ok, the thing is, all three are what i like to think of as "core campagin" files.

What this consists of, is the campaign layers itself. (SCR, LND, RND) that make up what you see in game, plus supporting files.

These supporting files are land, sea, and air units. Then theres the acutal roster. WHo's on what side, and who has what land, sea, or air units. All three "core campaign" games, have different supporting files. For instance if one game has a very small airbase defined in its land units, and the other does not, and if your trying to swap one campagn for the next, its liable to crash.

Then theres the serious matter of damage models and AI_sensor usage. Simply put, one file has alot of say in the damage model, and its implemented three different ways, depending on what game your using. You simply cant use this file for one game, and expect it to work on the other. You also just cant swap ships from GW to NYGM or vice versa because one uses a different AI_sensor file then the other.

The bottom line is, unless you know what your doign with the files, its best to just take the game as you see it or your going to get wierd results, if it works at all.

I forgot to add, that is if it is indeed "unified campaign" were talking about here, then you should know that UC is the predecessor to both GW and NYGM.

UC is acutally harbor traffic 1.48. Both GW and NYGM took UC as a base, but they've built up / changed upon it so much, and gon in different directions, that their not even the same games anymore. UC, is technically a step backwards. However, if one wants to play a game closer to stock, then UC is the way to go.

It is possible to combine files if you know what you're doing, but anybody doing it first has to answer the question "What exactly do you want from each game"? I'm using a lot of different mods, including some files from GW and NYGM, but I'll bet just about anything that if I released mine, or anyone else who plays that way did the same, people would complain that it wasn't exactly what they wanted.

So I'll ask it up front: anybody who wants a unified GW and NYGM (or RUB or IUB or UBWA), tell us EXACTLY what it is you want from each mod.

And then learn how to do it yourself. In the long run you'll be happier that way.
