Default Wheres the airplanes??

I am playing GW... great mod by the way. I am getting bored though, as there seems to be a lack of reality to me. I keep hearing all these stories of getting bombed by aircraft, especially in 44-45.
I had a career in 45, and sailed on the surface from Norway, right off of Scapa. Didnt dive once, night or day, reached my grid, hummed and hawed for a coulpe of days (all surfaced again) then quit my mission and deleted my career as I thought that long at that time in the war surfaced without ANYTHING coming after me was BS.
Next career..... 44. Right up the gut between Ireland and England, half way up, sank 2 freighters, then skiddattled (all on the surface) back to Brest, with narry a patrol craft, let alone a plane.

Am I missing something with this game?

Fore some reason the Game handles airplanes diffrently higher than 515 TC and higher. Run at 261 TC that should help.

Crew fatigue values should still be frozen at a TC of 256 (or even down to 64), if they don't then you probably messed around with the game so that you're 3D views can go up to higher TC values... change it back. There is little benefit to be gained by raising your 3D view's TC tolerance... you cant seriously expect to see any boats on that flickering horizon... besides, the game is meant to be played in the nav-map view while transiting and/or commuting to your destination, because there is certain info (like radio contacts that don't realy generate a radio message) that can only be seen on the nav-map view.

You can use SH3 Commander to change the TC level at which fatigue kicks in. I forget which one of the TC options it is. Someone else here can help you out.

I must admit I'm getting bored with GW also. The lack of aircraft combined with clueless destroyers and more reality-based DCs has reduced the fun tension I used to feel. And then the only aircraft I encounter is immune to my flak gun fire. I haven't even had a chance to experience DRM yet!

I'm anxiously awaiting for GWX, as I've heard that at least the destroyers will be more deadly (I hope they cheat a little and make the DCs more destructive and add more aircraft!). I want to try WAC, but wanted to reinstall SH3 and start fresh with GWX and WAC, though my patience is waning and I might install WAC after I complete my current patrol!

Try 128 TC. You´ll have more than enough planes.

You get plenty at 256 TC as well, any faster though and you'll miss em.
