This Nobel category is one of the worst, anyway, this author is being prosecuted by the Turkish government for "insulting the Turkish national identity" which is a very weak case.

Pamuk hasn't insulted anything. He simply stated two historical facts: that the Turkish government has commited an Armenian genocide and to a lesser extent got rid of some Kurds too.

What is insulting to human dignity is the Turkish govt's belief that prosecuting people for writing this actually makes the situation any better. Quite the contrary, it only displayes insane nationalism which is exactly the ingredient necessary to drive a genocide!

AHh so that's what that issue was -regarding the French government making it illegal for any-one to deny the Armenian genocide..is this a co-incidence?

The Nobel Prize in Literature is if you ask me quite important, but it's also annoying that it often is given to a unknown author. Actually, that is why someone always yells "ÄNTLIGEN" (FINALLY) when the statement about the winner is published.
