I've just reinstalled SH3 onto my new rig. I've tried locating posts which tell one how to tweak files to modify (simple modifications) the stock game, but these posts have disappeared.
Examples of what I'm looking to do: a. Change the key for firing a torpedo from "Enter" to "Ctrl-Enter" b. Dropping time compression down to 1x by hitting "Enter" c. Enabling the swatikas in the game (I have the non-US version) d. Installing some useful "make life easier" mods like navigation, plotting, slide out panels etc. e. Mods that correct mistakes in the stock game such as wrong panels, etc. Could any kind soul help? |

All of those things, and much much more, have already been done for you. Try this:
This one seems to be most popular, it's really adds to the immersion and fixes everything, the list of improvements and additions is literally in the hundreds. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=94544 This one is great because it adds in a lot of historical missions. It also upgrades all the graphics, screens, adds ships, like the other one. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=87436 Rub some diesel in your hair, take a shower and don't dry off, put on some old dirty clothes and try this one, for the full realism crowd: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=98628 Only run one of these at a time. ![]() Tools to install and run these effectively are here in the forum. Thanks, I already know about the supermods.
What I want is something to make SH3 more fun to play - yesterday I fubared an academy exam because I hit enter to reduce time compression to one; instead it launched a torp! ![]() Anyway I imported the *.cfg files from my old install, so at least the key "make life easier" custom configurations are there. I spent about 2 -3 hours yesterday downloading TGW. Look forward to it. |
