very depressing...i don't listen to satelite radio but any broadcaster that remains commercial-free gets my vote...i only realy listen to BBC radio 3 and 4 these days for this reason...
somehow i can't help but think that the key to this is the fact that the broadcaster is commercial-free ....so any expansion of it's buisness eats into the advertisers market capture and has a direct and measurable impact on the socail buying habits and spending decisions of the general public...which in real terms is tied to political and economic control over the masses....LOL funny???? probably not.. ever wondered why with all the endless and i do mean endless choices available packages selections available from satalite telly broadcasters there is no option to buy a channel that is commercial-free ..now then wouldn't you pay extra (to cover the loss of revenue) to be able to watch 24 hour telly with absolutely no interuption from avertisers...sounds to me like a very marketable product ....if ever there was a case for a big brother type "influence" over peoples attitudes and day to day visualisation of the world it's advertisers that manipulate us towards a certain end.. of course the world would grind to a halt if no one went shopping (it's true) but at the same time imagine the reduction in use of resources -emmision of climate changing waste products etc etc if we all became completely immune to advertising...mind you they still claim advertising has absolutely no impact on peoples behaviuor and attitudes...which is rather like the old ciggerete industrys stance regarding health and smoking.. trouble is with this the econmy would die on it's feet without advertising and the encouragement to spend without regard for the consequences.. round and round we go where it will stop no-one knows... lol sorry bit of a diversion from the topic but i can't help but wonder if the company was a commercail broadcaster wether they would be having the same restrictions imposed on them..the ad industry muct be a huge political lobbying force when all said and done and a huge linch pin in any governments socail/economic plans
