IXD2 - Conning tower missing

My first post here... lots of good info so far that I've seen here. I did a search for this, and couldn't find it.. so if it has been discussed before, I'm sorry.

I just got a IXD2 boat, based out of Lorient. When I start a patrol, immediately my rader, flak guns, radio antenna, radar warning receiver, and periscopes all become destroyed as soon as the patrol loads. I can't go to any of the stations such as periscope or bridge. And when I view the boat, the tower is completely missing!!

ETA: I am running it with SH3 Commander and the "U-Boat: Battle in the Mediterrean" add-on that a buddy lent me to try out.

This has been posted before, and solution too IIRC.

I can;t remember what heading and sadly not the solution either. Well I do remember this it has something to do with you spawn coordinates in Bordeaux.

Are you able to move the sub ?

Yes I can move the sub. I saw the post you are refering to, and doing that solution had no effects on me. The game acts as if I don't have a conning tower at all on the sub. Weird seeing my sub in at the dock with no conning tower on it, only the deck gun.

:hmm: dont know a great deal about battle of the Med but IIRC the other nations playable subs use the IXD2
You switch between the 2 with the shortcut it places on the desktop
It maybe that it hasnt switched over ( if you played the other subs ) or just a problem on install
Your best bet would be to post in the Simhq forum as that release is their baby

Inconvienient I know, but no conning tower you could run surfaced and be nearly invisible. What radar signature?

Dizza, do you have patch 1.4b installed for your SHIII? By that I mean for your geographical area, seeing you haven't got a location in your avatar. And what other mods are you using?

Also there could be a conflict with SHIII Commander and "U-Boat: Battle in the Mediterrean" add-on. Not sure but it's a thought. Try a second install but only use individual mods or GW.... no outside addon like the one you borrowed and see what happens. Or do a reinstall if you haven't gotten far in a campaign. Also make sure you do not add any mods or addons to SHIII while you're on a patrol, as that will cause loss of campaign and other problems. Only add when "In Base".

I'm using SHIII Commander 2.5 and 66 individual mods with 1.4b. No GW or anything like that and have not had a problem with SHIII. I've just aquired a IX/D2 and on my first patrol with her. When you upgrade to a IX/D2 you automatically get radar for her. Awesome U-boot btw. Everything on her shows just fine. When my patrol started and spawned in port, radar was on but I shut it down as it draws too much attention.

Like saying "here I am to the enemy". LOL

I am using 1.4d, with no other mods expect the ones I listed. I went back a few saved games to what was suppose to be my old boat. But when I loaded one of them I had the IXD2! Anyhow, I started that patrol and it worked fine, everything showed up okay and no destroyed equipment. Guess I'm back to sailing the seas. My renown did get screwed up a little, but I'm okay with that.
