What is the Weapons Officer good for anyway? No seriously I never use the guy, the position is never manned in my patrols. I use 100% realism and I have never required his services. He has a torpedo and medic qualification and he can always be found in the bow quarters snoozing unless he is reloading torps and in rare occasions releaving one of the other officers so they can rest. Does anyone use that guy??

If you don´t like him to plot your shots...then...
Well I use him to inform me the times to complete reloading of torpedoes, check the ammoload for guns and sometimes in fast paced surface attack I´ll let him plot my shots. I personally plot all submerged shots myself. Give the man a chance ![]() |

Well, you can check torpedo reload times by clicking on "I" brings up the weapons managment options. As for using him for plotting the shots I didn't even know you could do that... Does he miss alot??

I dont know about modded versioins but in the default game if you dont have a WO in the slot you cannot open the torpedo tube doors PRIOR to your shot.
Therefore your shot is actually delayed by a few moments after you hit "fire" while the doors open. Sometimes this delay is just enough to ruin your shot. Other than that (shrug) he keeps Bernard busy by telling him old war storys. |
