Default Ships sunk bug

Using stock 1.4, no mods. Did a patrol, sunk two ships, docked at port, chose "Dock at..." upon leaving, log before docking showed the two ships sunk.

However, upon entering the saved career screen to start another patrol, my log now shows one patrol (correct), but zero ships sunk (wrong).

Is this part of this bug ? Tried a search.

I have the same problem. Ever since I upgraded my PC I return to port with no kills. I have reinstalled twice but with no change. I use the latest official patch with no mods. This is a total game killer. can someone help as I have been playing SH3 since release and am suffering serious withdrawals!

I get exactly the same. I'm now on my second career and I still get the same result.

Hmmm the only bug like this that I know of is the one that causes you not to have any ships and tonnage registered after the first patrol if you upgrade your sub before starting it. .Loading a save-game while on patrol might have also have caused this .

Yep I also get this. I don't have a solution, just adding fuel to the fire I use the official update and the GW mod.

I'm one who saves during the patrol, submerged and everything <SHOCK HORROR!!!>. Well... sometimes you have to, like if I have to unglue myself from my chair or something.

I've seen me sink a Hospital ship and a Troop Carrier among other juicies like a large oil tanker and get zero credit

Bloody bugs.

I have to save mid patrol as well because not always have I got time to complete a patrol in one go. It's nothing to do with modding the game though as it happened to me in the stock game. Never tried upgrading my boat before the first patrol so its not that that is causing it.

Great game, but perhaps this bug is something we'll just have to live with.

I save in mid-patrol all the time, sometimes even in mid-battle, and I've never had the problem you guys are talking about.

I don't know what the problem is.

I have a problem - can't save at all!
I've chosen(for the first time) realism greater then 75% and I cannot save patrol, neither in harbour neither during the game:hmm:

Sure you just can't find the save option? And did you hit save game twice after you type in the name for the save file?

Have been playing since release and the problem has only started since I have upgraded my PC. The only real differance in hardware is an AMD x2 64 cpu. Still using xp pro. May try it without the starting sub upgrades.

John,

From what I've seen when you are in port before you start a new patrol, your new patrol tonnage and ships sunk is zeroed because you haven;t sunk anything on your "current" patrol.

Happy to be corrected on this but I think this is by design. The cumlative tonnage is in the U-Boat Aces screen, but each patrol's ships sunk are registered in the patrol log separately.

That's a weird bug,I also get it some time.Under some circumstances, pressing the "Save Game" text will make the save-game "window" to start it's trip to the center of the screen, stop about half-way through it ,go down again,go up,go down, and then dissapear and the next time you press save-game it's doesn't show up.For me ,just re-starting the game solves this.

Tonnage does not show up in patrol log or aces log. I could live with this bug if it at least showed up in the uboat aces screen.

Thanks TarJak, I'll have to check this when I get home later.

You know, after checking it via this info., I believe you're correct. It defaults to the current, new patrol, in the list.

Thanks for the help.........I win the dummy award of the day for not noticing this in the first place
