There have been many designs to house cruise missiles like SSBN's

Not really, only because of the pumpjet. The dorsal surface is more boxy, it appears to have alonger length to diameter ratio, and its TA is housed in its dorsal rudder (as opposed to independent twin ventral housing in the SW).

A source I've read is reporting that there are supposedly going to be around 8+ VLS tubes aft of the sail. http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/row/rus/885.htm

As far as I understand yes. Cruise missiles and not SLBM missiles.

Something to think about the comparison of SSGN's is that the Ohio conversions are for TLAM's since the TASM is no longer in our inventory. Also, the Russian SSGN's are more ASM orriented.

That is a picture of the Boeri so it is an SSBN. Taht model is direct from Rubin, I have seen other pictures of that particular one from a Weapons Expo in St Petes. I'm not sure if it is single or double hulled but it looks pretty.

Nothing to say they haven't decided to go for a change. Pretty sure I read somewhere that the next gen of Russian subs will be smaller single hulled type. Agreed though Borei will be 2 hull.

I stand corrected then. I was under the expression that this was the next SSN, but if it is the next SSBN then those VLS tubes are indeed for SLBM and not cruise missiles.
