Default Battery recharging - Odd behaviour

Hi,

Hi, I'm running TWOS (latest version) and my batteries aren't charging properly.

I surface, set speed to standard and the log shows "Secure recharging batteries".
I ask my CE to Recharge the batteries and the log shows "Recharging the batteries"
I can hear the engine note change and what sounds like a generator charging
Log shows: "Chief Engineer: Switch to standard propulsion!"
Log shows: "Secure recharging batteries"
Log shows: "Standard propulsion"

And that's it. This happens within a matter of seconds and my batteries don't charge.

CO2 & Compressed recharge fine.

What am I doing wrong?

Mods:

Env settings - Brighter nights
Map contacts colours
Officer icons as stations
remove plastic cover
campaign advance verifier
FX_Reduc Fires & explosions

It's probably because of the weather. If the seas are rough the recharging is often stopped outside the player's control. To avoid this you have to be in higher time compression. If I want to recharge the batteries during rough weather I ussually give the order and then go to 16x time compression until the recharging begins. Then I quickly advance time compression to 32x or higher.
In higher time compression the recharging is never stopped.

I will give this a go although the weather has been pretty calm and it stops before I can enter TC.

And the other night it was flat calm and still didn't charge. I also though that the sub would change to recharge atuomatically upon surfacing?

Will do some more testing.

Thanks.

I seem to have it working now.

I tried charging the batteries through the icons above the crew stations rather than clicking on the crew member and it wouldn't work so I raised the snorkel, received a warning about no snorkel being fitted but was able to then charge the batteries.

And since then, I have had no problems with charging them irrespe ctive of whether I raise the magical no-existant snorkel.

I still though have to manually order the recharge. O2 and compressed air recharge automatically.
