Default In my first mission

Hi all,

Questions:
I am using GW and SH Commander 2.6

I am almost now in my patrol area.
I have yet to see any contacts and the weather is terrible.
I left Kiel to proceed to my patrol area which is just to the south west of Bergen

I was wondering if I would receive a message once I have to return back to Kiel or if I have to decide myself when I am going back based on fuel left.

I am driving a IIA

As well I am not sure to understand well the fuel gauge. Is it the little red line that I have to look for??

Thank you very much!

You decide when you want to go back.

Hint: You come home better with fuel than without. . .

I think the red line is 25% fuel left, but i don't know exactly.

You make the decision about returning to base. I always advance to my grid at maximum speed of 'ahead one third' and then patrol my grid area at 'ahead slow' in the IIA to economise on fuel. Try to guesstimate how much fuel you used getting to your patrol grid from the gauge and make sure you have at least that amount left when you decide to head for home. Do not rely on your navigator's fuel reports! He just shouts out the first number that comes into his head when you ask him about remaining range.

Good luck, Herr Kaleun, and the band will be waiting for you!
