Default Flower class corvette

out of 294 ships built during world war two only a single flower class corvette remains.

These ships which Churchill dubbed cheap and nasty became the back bone in the battle for the Atlantic.

These little ships help carry the war to conclusion

This new article details those efforts and features the last remaining flower class HMCS Sackville

Thanks for providing the link.
This is a great read. I know this class of ship was cramped and the interior spaces used to the extremes. Their sea keeping abilities were limited as well. Nonetheless, the Corvettes like the flower class proved invaluable.

Thanks for sharing.

I follow this guy's build thread on youtube where he is building HMCS Snowberry in scale 1:144.
He's at video number 16 now.

Back a few years ago I was hoping to make a trip up to see this Ship.
I was planning to see it with Mush Morton who has passed away sadly.

Not that Mush. He went by Mush Martin here. My mistake.
He went permanently to Sea back in 2016.
Was a 'Captain' here until he passed away a few years back.

I still have an unfinished mod he was working on that I hope to complete for him.
UberBoot was the mod.

^ I have heard that name here in Subsim. Very sorry for your loss. Thanks to Kapitan and his article, I want to see this vessel and also U-505 in Chicago.

I am still trying to get to HMCS Sackville the real problem is time for me ive been to Halifax quite a few times and never been able to have enough time to go and see her

Watching the Cruel sea as a kid it made me love these little ships.

I am surprised that no one did a game like destroyer command which featured one of these.

I loved to play destroyer command I played it for hours and was my friends worst nightmare when we played on mIRC

I can't recall that I could use a Corvette in the game.

Yeah the destroyer command was destroyers only but was a great game shame it’s died now but the new one coming out is interesting and looking forward to it

I’d love to see a game where you can play as a corvette or destroyer in World War Two something like SH5 was

I truly miss our hours of fun we had when we played SHII versus Destroyer command.

I hope that the dev team behind this new upcoming destroyer game will create a kind of addon so players can chose whether they want to control, destroyer, corvette or a sub(German or Japanese)
