Please do a search. I know it is a rather glib answer but the fact is the 'seawolves' thing is likely to bring up no end of emotions and swearing. It's like throwing petrol on a fire. suffice to say there are rather a lot of threads about it...

That is NOT SHIII, it's a collection of "borrowed" mods.

barracuda .. if you go into SH3 Mods Workshop here at this site you can get all the stuff they are trying to sell for free ... no need to buy an add on pack since the modders here already have provided them for you free of charge for everyones enjoyment

Be careful with saying that - Sucky as it seems one of the guys involved with this 'add-on' was threatening lawsuits on Sim HQ about people saying exactly that. He was getting a little sensitive about it, Lol. Pot, Kettle, Black and all that Jazz...

I don't know anyway. I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot barge-pole.

There are two Seawolves.
The old one that some are still crying about here and the new Mediterranean one that has only been released in France to date.
The first SW has some mods available for free as well as their own mods.
The cry babies have been proven wrong regarding theft but certainly right about poor intentions. The reason there is a threat for lawsuits is simple. If you publicly accuse them of theft and they sue you and you go to court you must prove they stole something and if you can not you will be liable.
I should also repeat that SH3 is owned by UBI-Soft and UBI gave Seawolves permission to make their mod and they have only given permission to Seawolves making all other mods an alteration of UBi-Soft owned material.
That aside at this point the freeware packages like Greywolves and NYGM are far superior to the original SW so this should be left in the wish it never happened past.
The new Seawolves Med, however is a different story.
That has over 40 new ships and campaigns for Salamis and the Black Sea and particularly for those that do not like modding is very worth while.
Since I beta tested it I can assure you I made sure everything was questioned and I even asked they rename things like new ships that used the same name as a free mod ship (different model just same name designation) so there would be no hint of impropriety.
Even those that hate SW might be tempted by adding so many new ships alone but some will make hating SW a passion and a permanent part of their existence.
Others have better things to do.
IMO, get GW or NYGM as there are many to help you here with problemsnow and if you want a complete Med game that is very different consider SW Mediterranean.
It will be titled U-Boat; Battle in the Mediterranean
It will be released in Germany and England in September, as I understand it.

The first official Seawolves release by X1-software on CD includes mods which they took without permission from the creator. Despite X-1 software people were specifically told that they should not use those mods for commercial purposes, they went ahead and sell them anyway. The X1-software representative even admitted that on SimHQ forums (http://www.simhq.com/cgi-bin/ultimat...f=129;t=001559
look for Combat99's reference to "a cloned merchant and a transport".)

As to second Mediterranean release, it is yet to be seen. Because it is made by the same people who did the first realease and whose representative insulted the forum communities on the UBI and Subsim forums by using anti-Jewish remarks (remember, X1-software guys are from Germany) and posting porno.

That's why he put it in quotes(" "). It's a polite way of saying something without actually being rude enought to say it.

Just what I was abou to say. Neal was polite in saying "borrowed", but you know what he meant.

There is no excusing the behavior of the German anti-Semite but who that was; was never known or proven. (Although we have strong suspicions)
However, Serg, if my memory serves me correct it was I not you that blasted that person in public.
I have also been beta testing this SW Med and have never worked once with anyone from Germany, (Is Canada now part of Germany?:hmm: )
I might add and my contacts strongly denounced that anti-Jewish crap and labeled the poster and I quote; “A trouble maker”.

As for the two converted ships that was admitted as a mistake.
They were still not aware of it until I noticed them in the Med version and I both questioned and asked they be removed .
That was when they even realized they were there at all and they removed them at once.
I do not want to get to technical but if I understand this those were UBI-Soft owned copyrighted ships you converted and when they gave X-1 permission to make a payware mod and no one else was given permission that puts that in a grey area where I agree is morally wrong but theft is not the right word by a long shot.
Ergo, those are UBI ships. You did not make those ships you modified UBI’s ships. I agree they should have been more courteous/sensitive but having permission to use and modify SH3 utilizing modded stuff is certainly a grey area but not what the continued crying is about, IMO.

I agree I helped SW by advising them on historical matters (Not that they always listened) and beta tested the add on reporting problems and making sure no Serg ships were in there! :rotfl:
They benefited because it will be a better product and they will sell more but that increases the community and future SH development as our numbers are borderline small enough to scrap the whole thing.
I am always amazed that modders can not understand there are many people that do not want to add mods tweak their games and are happy to pay for an add on CD that they can just click install and be done. Some do not want to debate the stuff we do and enjoy and that is a whole different world separate from us.
I chose to help them as I believe it helps us in the long run.

It was not a mistake because X1-software people were in e-mail communication with me about those ships. Besides they took other my mods into the first release on CD, such as f.e. Multi-skinned warships v1.0, despite they were told they should not use my mods for commercial purposes.

On the contrary I remember how you tried to convince me and others that those ships were never there, it is only the same names with different content. But it does not matter. I stopped trust your word quite some time ago.
