Evasion is the best technique and early war, my policy is to evade escorts at all costs. I never attack escorted ships. It’s impor to build a seasoned crew and my emphasis on point giving is in attack. So points go to the torpedo man, watch man, morale etc. Also sound man. I find convoy attacks rather pointless. There are some big targets but there’s always the lengthy depth charging and I can count on one hand the times they didn’t find me and went off elsewhere.
