Hi all i have a problem i need some help.
i'm still in Dec 1940 with a Vllb operating from Wilhelm............ i don't really want to go around England and Irland to get to my patrol grid DJ which is miles away....So i plot a course to run the warship ally Der Kannal.. I evade some serious surface traffic 6-7 plus warships covering the area the water is shallow so i maintian periscope depth all is well untill just after dunkirk and some times alot further..............i have tried to sale close to my cost also close to englands cost also in the bloody middle but even when no ships are about i get a taking damage call i pan out in free camera look at my sub under water and its all on its lonesome no rocks no running aground............it just taken massive damge all flooding and most times i sink..... what gives im playing GW 1.1a i have goten through once on the surface but never under it is there a mine field right across the striaght................... many thanks for some help..... If you look at your papper map that came with the game it happens about where the D for southend is just below it where the gap is the smallest. i guess the enemy have mined the crap out of it or some thing.....

Hy crazyivan,
So you´re playing Grey Wolfes Mod campaign i´d say you have ran into a minefield. GW has heavily mined the channel as well as the english east coast and other places. You can open the campaign scr layer file in the mission editor => Silenthunter3-folder/data/campaigns/campaign/Campaign_SCR.mis and have a look for yourself. To avoid the mines it´s best not to run the channel at all :p but if your really want, try staying on the surface. Hope for calm seas.

I don't think it's just GW. Similiar event happened to me yesterday with NYGMv2 - westbound off the Calais coast daylight, heavy storms, submerged, boat took instant damage everywhere. Had to sit on the bottom for hours (using the LRT mod)while repairs accomplished. Fuel tank damaged and lost 90% of fuel. Made it back to Wilhelmshaven on 1 prop and 1 rudder. Very cool!

It may be a minefield as all the major mods have some
I use SH3 gen which gives me a rough location of all minefields depending on the accuracy I choose |
