Jane's 688(i) Hunter/Killer on Windows 10

Hello everybody,
I am seeking for a patch enabling Jane's 688(i) Hunter/Killer to work on my new PC with Windows 10 (64 bits).
This new computer is an HP Omen has not CD player on it. I have been playing this game since the 1998, and I would love to have it working properly on it.
Thanks in advance for your your advises, support or comments.

If you already have the CD, you'll need to make a choice. Buy a DVD plug in player for your rig or buy the game again as a direct download.

If you go the direct download route, there are several places where you can buy and install the game-

- Steam.

- GOG (Good Old Games).

- Amazon. Search for Strategy First and 688i. Make sure you buy the download and not a disk.

With the direct download route, what you get will already be patched to the last formal update.

You may need to install a video converter to play on Win10. There's a converter available here called d3d8.dll, just drop it into the same folder where you see the game's exe file. Try it without the converter at first, with those Win10 updates you may not need it for 688i.

As Jim pointed out, we have some forums here dedicated to the Sonalyst games and there's still an active community.

old thread, but, 688i works well on Steam Deck. It could be a -little- better, specifying your depth is a little hard to do cause the selector is a small touch screen button, but I also have sausage fingers.
