Silent Hunter II/Destroyer Command: Ships stack smoke
Greetings.
I have come back to SH2/DC after several years. Back then, I downloaded an add-on that showed smoke emitting from the ship's stacks. Cannot seem to remember which add-on did that. I also remember that the add-on only worked on certain ships, there were a couple of cargo ships that didn't emit stack smoke like the others, however there was a fix to that also....Can anyone refresh my memory? Thanks! |

Vickers Oil slick and Fireball packages add billowing smoke, flares, secondary explosions etc- highly recommend.
Hard to know what you had because, most graphic mod packages change the graphic : "smoke.tga". You can also increase or decrease the amt of smoke by changing " stacksmoke" (path DC\Sim\Art \Pyro\ Pyro.PSF ). Change the "Duration" to whatever. In the game, stack-smoke helps locate, number, range, and direction of distant ships but can't be used as masking cover like it was sometimes used, because the AI sees through-it. |
