Ok, I would ask this in the 'Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate' forum, but... don't want to derail the intent of that spot... so I'm asking here instead.
I've tried searching for this info. I recall seeing something about it before.. but for the life of Me, can't find it yet again, just when I need that info. ![]() Ported out of Surabaya, driving a Sargo class sub, is 9th of Feb. 1942.. mission is to drop off supplies in the Philippines, south by SW of Davao (icon marker for the mission is in the general area of 125-126 E x 5-6 N, on the map) when I zoom in, the mission marker moves slightly inland, and no idea just how far off from that marker to be for the drop supplies box, telling Me I can complete that mission will show up. I know that I'll have to be doing about 2 knots or less, preferably at a dead stop if at all possible, and then wait for the guys to exit the sub & area in their rubber dinghy aka raft. After completing that, I know I can then exit the area... So... any info on the distance for that mission (& any of the other missions similar in nature to this 1) would be of great help & appreciated... Thanks, M. M. ![]()

the guy(s) that write up the text (radio messages/orders) either deliberately omit that key piece of information or do not think to add it to the messages/orders. in their defense, the messages/orders are text files that have to be individually edited and there are 383 missions for Patrol Objectives. for a best practice, use the compass and draw both a 5 km circle and a 3 km circle with the center on the middle of the mission marker. then try the 5 km. if you get your prompt to drop off the spy/supplies/raiders, then you are good-to-go. if don't get the prompt, move in to the 3 km marker. good luck! ![]() p.s. it just dawned on me that you MAY have been asking for the folder where the information is stored. C:\Ubisoft\FOTRSU\Data\Campaigns\Campaign\PatrolOb jectives. to know which of the folders is the correct one, you have to look at the C:\Users\Dad\Documents\F81\data\cfg\SaveGames\nnnn nnnn\CareerTrack.upc and lift the value at PlayerCurrentObjectives=ID57. then look up ID57 in C:\Ubisoft\FOTRSU\Data\UPCData\UPCCampaignData\Pat rolObjectives.cfg. that will give you the folder name in C:\Ubisoft\FOTRSU\Data\Campaigns\Campaign\PatrolOb jectives.

With the request for info, was in general about what diameter area to shoot for, so as to be able to complete the drop off WITHOUT running aground, as the mission was assigned right after Manila fell & port to dock was reassigned as being Surabaya. Not where info would be found, in the guts of FotRS... Sorry about any confusion caused by the way I worded the query...

The last time I did a drop-off in FOTRS it was activated around 3000 yds, I don't know if drop-offs or insert agent missions have a different activation distance though.

From memory I have played that mission and got the option to drop off a bit before I got to the point.

As was mentioned earlier in this post by KaleunMarco, when you get a few hours away make a circle around the star. I do one for 2000 yds, 1 for 4000 yds.
when I get inside the first circle, I slow, wait, and see if they launch. If not, I move on the the smaller area and try again.

Cheers fellow skippers...
![]() Thanks to info gleaned from the answers given... have successfully completed the supply drop last night. After that, I radioed in & got another follow on mission that I'm headed for now. Thanks to all who replied... I appreciate it.. Fair winds, smooth seas & plentiful targets.. M. M. ![]()
