RSRDC special patrol objectives

I am running SH4 1.5 with RSRDC for stock. Just got to Fremantle after my third patrol i am in March 1942.

I know RSRDC has disabled the special missions from stock and added new ones. I am wondering how you get asssigned a special mission. Does the class of boat matter?

Im in a porpoise now but getting a new sub when i entered Fremantle. Does the time of year affect it? This is my third time playing career (2 from pearl and this one from manila) and there doesnt seem to be much variety other than combat patrols in particular areas?

There is the possibility of SpecOps in the Porpoise, as well as with the Salmon, Sargo, etc., beginning about mid-1943. The Narwhal Class is almost exclusively SpecOps, but is not available there until 1941. It's missions out of Pearl have some SpecOps beginning in 1943 also, and it then transfers to Fremantle for 1944... You can use a text editor to open the "Game /Data /UPCData /UPCCampaignData /Flotillas.upc" file and see what boats are where when, and what they do. It is a bit daunting to look at initially, but in conjunction with the PatrolObjectives.cfg file, is what controls what the boats do in the game...

Thanks a million i will have a look at it. Im in USS drum now a gato class. Hopefully some variety will come into play

RSRDC has disabled most kinds of special missions, but there is a mod to re-activate them again, but only if you play with TMO or RFB, otherwise you would need to adjust the mod which is time-consuming.

I have adjusted The one with TMO to work with Ralles ModSoup which contains TMO+OTC+RSRDC. If you are interested i can upload it, it will re-introduce the photo and spy missions in RSRDC.
