I've done it now. Trying at add a mod and now the program keeps crashing. Tried an uninstall and reinstall (STEAM) and it keeps crashing. Any tips on how to remove everything. Also, does steam provide the latest version of SH3?

Yes, the Steam version is v1.4b. It will show as "Product version: 1,4,0,1" on its "Properties" page in Windows Explorer.
When installing SH3 (including the Steam version) on a Windows OS version Vista, 7, 8 or 10, you will have to choose a different Steam "Library" folder other than the default of "C:\Program Files (x86)\ Steam..." since Windows has UAC (User Access Control) "protection" on System-type folders that will prevent a proper activation of mods. Refer to Moving a Steam Installation and Games on the Steam support site if you have to do that.

I remember there is a quick program that can uninstall and clean up registry in one shot. But the anti-virus software would report it as a virus. LOL

The program is called CCleaner, and yeah that's probably what you need to fix your problem, run the registry cleaner function. |
