Hmmm, that was a bit too neat...although he could have just had trouble with getting the gears right, after all he did then promptly stall it.
The fact that he took it wide is fair do, it's easy enough to do, but surely he could have turned it a bit sharper than that to avoid colliding with the barrier and then carried on?

I'd say yes, he parked the car, but after all only he knows really. But he has a record of doing unfair things, Jerez '97 anyone? Besides I didn't give him the benefit of doubt anymore since his move against Hill in Adelaide.
Stellar performance in the race tho. Finishing 5th from last place on the grid, is quite a feat at Monaco.

Little story about Shuey:

Hehe, I remember the past years when I used to drive with GP3 and later, not as much, with GP4. And oftenh got stuck at exactly the same position, in the same manner - finding the corner too tight. Don't know if it was intention or not. Remembering the pictures they showed on TV, I think he had a bad approach into that turn, probably too fast. His hands on the steering wheel snapped to the right, you can see that in the film they showed on TV, at least it did not turn the car to the right that hardly as one would have expected with that massive steering movement of the steering wheel. when he tried the second time to steer to the right, the corner already had become too tight. Could happen, but should not happen, agreed. It certainly was the worst case scenario, the worst position on track to look for a parking lot. The later performance in race showed that he is too good to intentionally try tricks like this. really, I do not know if it was intention or not. I tend to think that heaven simply was against him in that moment. He said he was racing at the limit on that round, so the margin for errors must have been extremely thin. Nevertheless I find some of the critcism too biased and unfair. Montoya and Hill in the past have caused far more severe messups even during the race. noone compares to that kind of idiotic maneuvers both of these hotheads have produced en masse in the past.</p>

It seems to me that a lot of the winningest (I was going to say best, but I'm not sure that applies) drivers have done some questionable things.

He was definitely guilty.Losing control of his car but not getting even a smudge on it whilst his rival was trying to set a better lap was totally contemptable.He has cheated before and he brings the whole sport into disrepute!The stewards made the right decision.The whole of the paddock thought so as well.

Cheating prat. A brilliant race driver but a prat all the same. The stewards finally showed some damned balls with him for a change. Quoting from F1 Racing.net, one of the race stewards involved in handing out the cheating Schumi his punishment said:

"We don't know for sure if the entire manoeuvre was deliberate, but in that spot he had certainly not done anything like it throughout the weekend. Schumacher braked over 50% more heavily than on the other laps he did. He then performed some absolutely unnecessary and pathetic counter-steering, and that lasted five metres, until there was no more chances of going through the turn normally."

"He lost control of his car while travelling at only 16km/h. That is something completely unjustifiable. And the engine only shut off because he wanted it to by losing enough time before hitting the clutch. And the excuse that he did not engage reverse because there was traffic doesn't make sense at all."

Guilty as charged. A shame really but he had gotten away with murder in the past and quite frankly I wouldn't have been bothered if they suspended him from the rest of the race weekend in particular after his sheepish looking performance at the post qualifying press conference. I won't forget his brillaince behind the wheel nor will I forget the number of times thathe has shafted other drivers over the years.

Alsonso, Webber and somebody else were all on hot laps and according to both the Renault and Williams teams, both drivers would have beaten Michael Scumachers time. In the end both Alonso and Webber were moved up to what would have been their true quali positions of 1st and 2nd on the grid.

I did not see the race/training but watched the video linked in this thread. What could he be guilty of. I watched it twice, but what the heck am I missing ?????

He is accused of having intentionally blocked the track so that the qualifying laps of his opponents got ruined that way, giving him pole and rejecting the others the chance to overtake him.

I have given up on F1 racing. These days it's about as interesting as watching paint dry and has been that way for about the last 5 years or more.
Touring car racing, or my personal favourite: World Rally Championship racing is much more exciting to watch. Leaving aside the standard WRC events I really like the Icelandic take on offroad motorsport- those crazy guys driving up near vertical hills in 400bhp alchohol powered garage behemoths; wonderful!
