Install DVD not working.

I have box version of Silent Hunter 5 Battle of The Atlantic. I wanted to try out the Wolves of Steel mod but my install disc isn't working anymore. I still have original install keycode. Is it possible to download it from somewhere? And will I have to download/install any additional patches to install Wolves of Steel mod?

Have you made certain to NOT install the game into it's default "program files" location. I usually create a folder under "users" or directly to the C drive. The program files folders can be buggy for older games.

I tried, but I did't any way to download it without buying. But I'm not familiar with this site, i may be doing something wrong.

I didn't install it at all. My windows just can't read DVD with the game.

I had same problem installing from disc. the setup.exe would not run. So i opened explore disk and saw a file called "a" which is an aplication, right clicked and ran it as admin and hey presto the setup.exe started up and install began. Hope this works for you.

On another note to Vecko and Peter I got rid of my XP rig, built a win10 rig better graphics and more ram. TWOS 2.2.5 runs like a dream. Thanks to you both for help in the past, keep up the good work.

OP, which Windows are you running? For all old setup.exe files you have to right-click them and chose a compatibility mode + run as admin and then install into a non-protected folder, that is a different folder than the suggested Program Files. Eventually you have to run the setup from a different OS, and transfer the files and registry entries. Win 7 and Win XP will read and execute the setup.exe.
With Win 10 you will have the most trouble with this game, it doesn't change buying it from somewhere else I think (and why buying the game a second time?), get your setup to run somewhere and transfer the files - and get rid of U-Play.

Would that not be wonderful to be rid of this totally unnecessary piece of ---- on a 10 year old game which does not work properly from stock anyway.
The best you can do legally is run your game offline which removes Uplay.
