Can't lock target
It's really annoying that I can clearly see the ship in my periscope for about five minutes now at a distance no longer than 5000-7000 m, yet I still can't lock it to use the stadimeter. Is there any way to make this work?

You need to talk to a crewman (forgot which one) and ask him to follow target.
If you have the corrisponding optional mod for TWoS loaded, you can ask a crewman to identify target too. |

Do yo have the lock on target option turned on?
The other turns "XO" on for ship recognition. Michael

Im having the same problem! Cant lock with the spacebar, so all the other options for targeting are unavailable

To lock view to target isn’t the space bar, it’s the X
 I’m quite sure if you can’t lock the target even though you can see it, it’s because of fog or night (X or space bar to bring the XO) You have to wait until you can lock it, i know it’s a bit frustrating...but soon or later you can finally lock it! Latest TWOS isn’t that bad on that particular matter. Some adjustments has been made. But i remember years ago, it was even worst

Had same problem : above posts seem to work IF you use the space bar and then tap the X key

little tip
I got the same bug when doing a recon mission that i had to have the target locked to take a photo. Just do a a little save and load the save you just did back and the bug should be fixed, now sometimes the game will spawn new ships so just repeat that if you dont get any ships spawned
