Are there different language versions of SH4?

I located a SH4 Gold brand new on E-Bay, but it says English-German. Didn't know there was a German version. Would the game itself be in English?

yeah there's french, spanish, german, and russian i believe

But isn't the game itself only in English? I think I read that somewhere. They just have different manuals in different languages. There is one on E-Bay right now that says German-English and it is from Germany. I suspect German manual with English game play. Or am I wrong?

if I remember correctly there is a European version of the game and an english version (or something like that) and you had to be sure the patches you used matched the game version you had in that regard no matter the actual numerical version

I thing the game code was written and read in different language and that cause issues if the wrong version patch was used
