Uplay Problems

Well, I finally installed Silent Hunter 5 Gold Edition this morning. I also installed the latest version of Uplay.

I then created a new Uplay account. I made sure that the "Offline" box was not checked and attempted to login to Uplay to activate SH5 Gold.

Uplay informed me that either my email or password was incorrect. So I made sure that everything was typed in perfectly. Same result.

Then I tried to login to the Uplay website. Same result.

So then I ranted for awhile. When I got over it I started thinking things through. SH5, I reasoned, is OLDER than the latest Uplay software. Ergo, perhaps trying to launch the whole Uplay mess via the game executable does not work any longer. And so I launched Uplay directly instead of with the SH5 executable. Bingo. I was right.

So if you're having the endless headaches that many people are having trying to log on to Uplay, try launching Uplay all by itself and then launching whatever game you're wanting to play from within Uplay. If you launch the game first, it will deploy Uplay, but it won't work. You have to launch Uplay directly.

I still don't like Uplay. However, SH5 Gold is running, finally, so I'm content now, LOL!

Hi Oubass
the problem is the game launcher that installs with the dvd is not up dated even though it gets patched.

The best bet is to uninstall it and install this one which can be placed on any drive and in any folder.
