What do you mean by disappear?

We have a pile of unmatching socks every week in the laundry. We load half a machine and remove a filled drum.
Single socks of quality and colours we would never ever buy or wear.
Plus some weird pieces of clothing a hippo or an elephant could wear as socks - or as heel warmer or something.

I'd like to know how they magically appear in one of the wifes clothing drawers.

The only hint I have thus far is the fact we both wear black predominantly.
