Default Touchpads suck!

Haven't played SH4 for awhile so I thought I would start a career. Started at Pearl on 12/9/41 and got Honshu for my patrol area. Got there with no trouble and a stop at Midway for fuel. Weather was really bad so I thought I would see if I could sneak in to Tokyo. No problem. Still bad weather. Got to Tokyo and sank a carrier and a battleship. Left there and stopped at Kawasaki. Sank two destroyers then went on to Yokohama. Sank two freighters there and decided to leave since the Jap navy seemed to be waking up. Weather still really bad so I sneaked out to sea on the surface. Out of torpedoes so sent report and headed home. At that point the game closed. It seems I accidently touched the 'touchpad' and closed the game. I have disabled the touchpad. And all of a sudden it occurred to me that not once had I saved the game!!! The super first patrol was gone. CRAP!

The latest laptops have a method that claims to eliminate accidental touches to the touchpad so this doesn't happen. I also have some nice dry land in the Florida Everglades I'll sell you cheap.

I use a usb mouse on my laptop. All I do is open task manager and disable the touchpad driver. Works again once I restart the computer.

Yep; first thing I did was disable the touchpad. I have a usb mouse plugged in and was using that but had not disabled the touchpad. By the way, I am using Windows 10 on a seriously underpowered laptop that I just inherited and installed SH4 on. Using a 55 inch tv for monitor and it's okay but not really sharp picture. Definitly not as good as my desktop pc. Went back and replayed the mission but due to an encounter with a destroyer I had to skip the carrier and battleship. Did get 3 freighters and one destroyer though.
