I've lost track of which teams are going to LA? Raiders, Rams, Texans, Charger? Maybe they can relocate the whole league there?

Gonna be Peyton in the SB again, versus SuperCam and the Panthers. Hmmm.... oh my goodness, this should be great. I'm gonna tune in to the German feed, these guys call the game better than anyone

I used to like listening to the game on the radio while watching it on TV. It doesn't work anymore since the TV networks instituted a 12 second delay (thank you very much Janet Jackson) but it was a great way to learn the game.

I even heard a rumor that if the San Diego Chargers move to LA (they have already filed for the name LA Chargers) then the Oakland Raiders are intrested in moving to the void left in San Diego.

Wouldn't that be a hoot

I suspect Manning 'the sheriff' watched High Noon to prep for his exit party. I had Denver by six; they exceeded my expectations! The Panthers were favored; but in the Super Bowl...all bets are off!

so happy for him

payton manning is the best example of class, grace, and humility there is in the NFL today and maybe for all time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

then on the opposite side of the field is cam newton who is one of the worst example of pampered spoiled millionaires who think they are owed something and any merit based criticism of them has to be about race.

Congratulations to the Denver Broncos on their Superbowl win. I'm Happy for Denver and their fans. Peyton Manning at 39 is the oldest quarterback to play a Superbowl. Peyton Manning didn't play a great game with 13 of 23 passing for 141 yards with one interception and a lost fumble. With Denver's great defense though, it was enough. The question is, is this Peyton's last football game ?

Ironically, "Iron man " Brett Favre, Quarterback for the Green Bay packers for much of his career was voted into the Pro Football Hall Of fame on Saturday. Favre had played Football for 20 years and is now is 46 . Congrats to Brett Favre and Green Bay.

Quote : At the time of his retirement, Brett Favre was the NFL's all time leader in passing yards and passing touchdowns, although both records have since been broken by Peyton Manning.

The Carolina Panthers and their fans should be proud of a great season as well.

The real losers were everyone who had to sit and watch the Superbowl commercials that were about as creepy as it gets.

Man, I miss George Blanda. He was playing in his late 40s when I was growing up.

Quote:
(1970) Blanda, at age 43, had a remarkable five-game run. Against the Steelers, Blanda threw for three touchdowns in relief of an injured Daryle Lamonica.

One week later, his 48-yard field goal with three seconds remaining salvaged a 17–17 tie with the Kansas City Chiefs.

On November 8, Blanda once again came off the bench to throw for a touchdown pass to tie the Cleveland Browns with 1:34 remaining, then kicked a 53-yard field goal with 0:03 left for the 23–20 win. Immediately after the winning field goal, Raiders radio announcer Bill King excitedly declared, "George Blanda has just been elected King of the World!"

In the team's next game, Blanda replaced Lamonica in the fourth quarter and connected with Fred Biletnikoff on a touchdown pass with 2:28 left in the game to defeat the Denver Broncos, 24–19.

The streak concluded one week later when Blanda's 16-yard field goal in the closing seconds defeated the San Diego Chargers, 20–17.

There are a lot of people prognosticating that but like Farve if a team offers a bucket full of money to keep paying a game that he loves it'll be difficult to say no.

Note to self: when visiting US of A, do it during superbowl.
This looks like fun

Yeah, but it just seems like Peyton is not the superstar he once was, naturally. I don't see any team staking a big future on him. I think he will retire before the next season.

Peyton loves the game and you may well be right. However, Peyton has had a number of injuries and missed a number of games. Peyton also had to take a pay cut although the winning of the superbowl put money back in his pocket according to the terms of his contract. Peyton had also been benched in favor of backup quarterback Brock Osweiler.

Peyton has quarterbacked the Denver Broncos yesterday and the Indianapolis colts in 2007 to Superbowl wins. Peyton has nothing left to prove and this would be a good time to go out as a winner. Peyton's name will come up I'm sure when the Hall of Fame balloting comes up though. Archie Manning, Peyton's dad, thinks Peyton will retire as well.

Kenny " the snake " Stabler quarterbacked the Oakland Raiders, Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints. Kenny also took the Oakland Raiders to Superbowl 11 where they won 32-14 over the Minnesota Vikings. Kenny passed away in July of 2015 from Colon Cancer however,

Quote:

In February 2016, the New York Times reported that doctors in Massachusetts discovered high Stage 3 chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in Stabler's brain after his death, which is caused by head trauma and concussions.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Stabler

For a lot of reasons including health, It seems reasonable Peyton will call it quits after this season and go out on top. Why put your health at risk at that point in your life ? Like you said August, this is just speculation at this point .

We will have to wait and see. Whatever Peyton does, I wish him the best.

I think he retires. Especially not being a part of a contending team. Those days I think are behind him.
