Default " Batman " killed in Auto Accident

" Quote " Maryland bid goodbye to a superhero, when Leonard B. Robinson, the "Route 29 Batman," was struck in a fatal car accident Sunday Night." Lenny B. Robinson was 51

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/08/17...-car-accident/

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/n...dent/31850837/

Robinson's "Batmobile," a custom Lamborghini, broke down on Interstate 70 near Hagerstown, Md. Robinson, often dressed up as the Dark Knight and visited area hospitals to visit sick children. He was on his way home from a car show when the accident occurred." The kids were always excited to " see Batman " Leonard always arrived with gifts for the Ill children as well. Leonard Robinson sold his business and volunteered his time and money in the Baltimore and D.C areas.

A dashboard video from a police officer pulling " batman " over for not having proper tags on his car went viral. In it's place was a license plate that read " batman " He wanted to be as authentic as possible. Leonard had the proper tags in the car though. The officers seem to get a kick out of this and posed with Leonard for pictures. He was on his way to an area hospital when pulled over.

In troubled times, he was a caring and unique individual who gave of his time freely. Laurie Strongin, executive director of Hope for Henry who knew Mr. Robinson, was quoted as saying, " Out of all the things he could have done with his money, she added, he chose to use it to make children happy."

I thought it was a great story when I first heard of him and what he was doing and now saddened at his loss.

It's always the good ones who leave too soon.

Rest in peace Leonard

This world seems to have far too few heroes and it is very sad to hear of Mr. Robinson's passing. If there are extra credits in the afterlife for what good is done in life, he had a very large credit on his balance sheet, indeed. There are many children who will long remember the day "Batman" came to their sickbeds and gave them a reason to smile...

RIP, Mr. Robinson, you've well earned your rest...

The world needs more people like him.
Rich and good only because they choose to be good. No other motives present.

And I said rich because a batsuit and batcar aren't cheap. Or any other convincing costume.

wolf_howl15 We all have an expiration date...

It's a shame that Mister Robinson's came around too soon.

RIP, Batman.

A friend from our Pontiac forums had just spoken to him awhile before he left the car show to go back home. Very sad indeed.

If you can find it in your heart, please make a donation to the Hope for Henry Foundation Lenny was affiliated with. The founders were his best friends and Henry was their child. He passed from an unknown disease that affects children.

Their web pages says it was related with this although there was no mention of which symptom caused the death.
