Sound Issue - Crew voices

I have SH4 V 1.5, RFB and RSRD.

I have changed the sound settings to minimize music and have all other volumes up to max, but find that the crew voices are almost too soft to hear. I tried turning music off, but it appears to stay at same level practically drowning what little voice sounds are spoken. Anyone have an idea on whether this is fixable (or am I just going deaf?!)

Ummm.........

I use RFB and I don't have music, unless I turn on the radio, or gramophone. ??????????

Are you sure you really have RFB enabled?

Beyond changing the options accessed in the game menu, I don't know what else you can do.

are they too soft to hear? or muted? I had a similar problem before and turns out my antivirus (avast) found a file in the SH4 directory. I rescanned it and it turns out it was a false positive. the voices worked after restoring the file
