Default Hello and please help?

Hello all, I'm new here . I usually play world of tanks but last night I watched "Das Boot" (great film). I now I want to play with a Sub, I use to play Wolfpack years ago and I'd like a game what is quite realistic but not an all out sim.
I was thinking Silent hunter 4 or 5. What do you think???? Thanks for any help

Hey lamboUK

You need to decide which theater you want. SH4 takes place in the Pacific and you command American Fleet Boats, in SH5 you command German U-boats in the Atlantic.

Though, I would recommend SH3, if you want a good U-boat game with slightly less fancy graphics, but (in my opinion) better mods.

Hi, thanks for the answer, I must admit the Atlantic would be my no1 choice. i'll have to have a quick youtube look at SS3 then. are all the mods for games on this site? and which ones are best??

I'd also recommend SH3 and avise playing it for a while in its original/stock state until you get used to the simulation.

Meanwhile, have a look round the SH3 area of the forum and see what mods are available (literally hundreds) before choosing what you feel would best suit your needs.

Alternatively, use MultiSH3 and try a few on different installs.

Hi lambo

It is important when purchasing these discs that you get a Starforce Free Version.

The dvd you are looking for will be showing ESS632.

The Starforce Free Version will be Black at the Bottom and White at the Top.

A typical File Version showing in Properties is 8.2.160.0

Product Version 1.4.0000

Date modified 18/08/2006

Do not be misled by the silver band at the top of the Dvd case that says Games in white letters which is irrelevant.

The Starforce Version will be Black at the Bottom and Silver at the Top.

These have a Product Version showing in Properties of 1.00.0000

This version does not have the latest patch and has copy write protection.

The box/case it comes in is irrelevant.

Its the dvd disc color you need to know before you buy it.
