Support Hitman's U-505 graphics help!

Okay, so here's my dilemma. I had been using widescreen Magui for my interface. But this required a graphics card driver designed for desktops, which was making my laptop run very hot. So I rolled it back to a 2014 update of the OEM driver, which unfortunately does not allow 1360x768. Now, this game is so awesome, that I am still thoroughly enjoying it with MaGui F at 1024x768, but I can no longer use the Charts Addon 1.5 with Leitender's awesome Anschütz Kompass. I know it can be edited in, but I know way too little to be messing with the menu1024x768.ini file. But I simply must have that Kompass somehow!
So I found Hitman's terrific U-505 graphics mod, but it does not change the GWX 3.0 slide out compass as it should, whether I use JSGME or manually replace the required files. Looking at the files, I can't see any reason it shouldn't work. Can anyone help me out here? I'm missing my Kompass!

Sorry for the wall of text and if this is in the wrong section. Thanks

Will the OEM driver do 1366x768?

Nope. The silly thing jumps from 1280x800 to 1680x1050
Which means any of the 1920x1080 GUIs are out too. Thanks though

Are you sure that won't work?

My laptop is not able to do 1360x768 either. It is designed for 1366 x 768. But I just changed the setting in Widescreen MaGui's d3d9.ini file from x=1360 to x=1366 and then widescreen Magui (1360x768) loaded ok. There are 6 pixels of seethru area to the right of the screen but I'm ok with that.

I'm not familiar with Hitman's U-505 compass, and Leitender's Anschütz compass is somewhat difficult to add to SH3 - depending on what kind of a mod soup one's game is.

Let's help the 1366 trick works. If not, I might one day try adding Leitender's Anschütz compass to the 1024x768 version of Charts Addon. That would make it easier for the SH3 community to try the compass, and I think I owe Leitender one, as he gave the permission to add his compass to widescreen Charts Addon. It's just that I have my hands full with all the tinkering with my own modsoup right now, so I can't give any promise on a date that the 1024x768 version would be ready.

I'll give that a shot and report back, thanks!
Edit: No dice. After a bit of research, I found it is indeed a driver issue. Apparently I can add this resolution to the driver, but I am ultra-terrified of hex-editing anything, my display driver in particular.

There are some freeware - tools out there to set up custom - resolutions and to force the card to do what you want.

nHancer comes to mind for nVidia cards or RivaTuner...
