Sys Requirements & Open Horizons issues

I just had some major problems using 'Open Horizons II v2.5 maybe someone else will find my experience useful. My 'Mod' list for this is below as a very kind member pointed out the list for this 1st mission should be small. I kept having a computer Lock-Up ie. Not Responding (I don't know if you would call that a CTD because it did not).

Everything was fine until, I-Clicked-on the-Captains Hat/Log then my computer would lock every-time.
1. Intercept Task Force ---everything fine
2. Sink 1 Destroyer----Everything fine
3. Sink Mine Layer---if I clicked the 'Captains Hat/Log'= Computer Lock-up
Ctrl-Alt-Delete usually twice to get out

Even today I was concerned to click on the Captain's Hat/Log. However a few days later with 2 clean installs I seem to have gotten past it, I hope.

I used a Minimal load of Mods did no weapons upgrades and am now in Kiel. Here I hope to install the rest of my Mods, hopefully. I even upgraded from a 1Gig DDR3 Video card to a 2Gig DDR5 card which I got cheap.

If anyone has any questions, suggestions as to why this kept occurring please respond. Or if anyone has any tips on diagnostics to use to identify these issues again please respond.

I'm new to this so I am trying not to get on anyones last nerve but this is very frustrating and I love computers.
