Awards in career mode
I was testing the sound settings in career mode when I discovered something wierd.
I was starting a patrol, checking the sound effects ect. the exiting...I did this 5 times, 5 patrols, never left the pier... After exiting, I checked my logs and awards and crew, just to see the effects. It turns out I recieved 3 medals.   ....never having left the pier in 5 patrols  Also, it seems that crewmen earn experience from being on the boat..even though they don't leave the pier.. I have the vanilla version of SHIII, SHIII commander and a few damage mods and sound mods... Do I need RuB to fix this behavior? |

I think the only way to fix it, is just not to do it.

Anything useful?? :hmm:
This to me is a major oversight....Why give out medals if it does not mean anything... The criteria for giving out medals should be completing objectives, sinking ships ect...not just completing a patrol...or at the very least, complete the patrol grid   This seems like a real simple fix: just edit a file.... |

Happened to me also. Got the Ritterkreuz with diamonds, oak leaves and swords for doing nothing....

The point (if you could call it that) here is that if getting those freebies you mentioned is the only way a player accumulates renown and promotions and medals, they're still not going to accumulate enough to really make a difference. So the medals and experience aren't really "meaningless" - a player has to actually do something to really make the most of winning them. Hope I made sense.
